The Orielles

A British indie-rock band from Halifax, West Yorkshire, the Orielles formed in 2012, when teenage sisters Esmé Dee and Sidonie B. Hand-Halford crossed paths with guitarist Henry Carlyle Wade at a party. The band's breakthrough single, "Sugar Tastes Like Salt," was released by Heavenly Recordings in 2017, followed one year later by the Orielles' debut album, Silver Dollar Moment. Both releases were inspired heavily by British music of the 1990s, including the Manchester movement, resulting in critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic. During the sold-out UK tour that followed the album's release, the group added keyboardist Alex Stephens to the lineup. Now a four-piece group, the Orielles returned in 2020 with a diverse sophomore album, Disco Volador, which peaked at Number 53 on the UK Albums Chart.
