The New Eves

The New Eves are a folk-punk quartet from Brighton, formed in 2021 by Kate Mager (bass, vocals), Ella Oona Russell (drums, flute, vocals), Nina Winder-Lind (cello, guitar, vocals) and Violet Farrer (violin, guitar, vocals), four artists from the city's underground and multidisciplinary scene, known for their DIY aesthetic - from visuals to video to production - who made their debut with the double single "Original Sin / Mother " before being signed to Broadside Hacks and Slow Dance. August 1, 2025 saw the release of their debut album, The New Eve Is Rising (Transgressive Records), a powerful, ritualistic work featuring bucolic flute, dissonant strings, post-punk bass and percussive choruses: tracks such as "Highway Man", a feminist reinterpretation of the famous poem, "Rivers Run Red", imbued with incantatory tension, and "Cow Song", inspired by Swedish kulning, reveal their ability to blend folk, punk and garage rock in a wild, mystical atmosphere. Their artistic universe extends beyond music, integrating experimental dance, handcrafted costumes and painted videos to create a stage experience of ceremonial intensity, halfway between collective trance and ritual performance.
