The Humpers

The Humpers was an American garage punk band formed in 1989 in Long Beach, California. Led by vocalist Scott Drake, the group featured guitarist Jeff Fieldhouse, drummer Jimi Silveroli, and bassist Billy Burks. The ensemble achieved early underground success in Yugoslavia, where they released their debut EP, My Machine, in 1990. The band became central figures in the Los Angeles garage rock renaissance alongside acts such as the Red Aunts and Claw Hammer. They released the acclaimed albums Positively Sick on 4th Street in 1993 and Journey to the Center of Your Wallet in 1994. After signing with Epitaph Records in 1995, the group toured extensively and issued Live Forever or Die Trying and Plastique Valentine. Their final studio album, Euphoria, Confusion, Anger, Remorse, followed in 1998. Notable singles include “Wake Up & Lose” and “Mutate with Me”. The band became inactive in 1999, after which Drake and Fieldhouse formed the group the Lovesores.
