The God Machine

The God Machine is an alternative rock band from San Diego, California, active in the early 1990s. Founded in 1991, the band consists of Robin Proper-Sheppard (guitar and vocals), Jimmy Fernandez (bass) and Ronald Austin, also known as Austin Lynn Austin (drums). Musically, the group plays alternative rock, post-rock and alternative metal. Their debut album Scenes from the Second Storey was released in 1993 and reached number 55 in the British album charts. the second album One Last Laugh in a Place of Dying followed in 1994, reaching number 100 in the British charts. Tragically, bassist Jimmy Fernandez died of a brain hemorrhage in London on May 23, 1994, leading to the break-up of the band. Robin Proper-Sheppard subsequently founded the band Sophia and the label The Flower Shop Recordings.
