The Envy Corps was an American alternative rock band formed in October 2001 in Ames, Iowa. Their first releases were the EPs Humble Hero/Lurking In the Shadows (2002) and Gregory Rumes (2003), followed by their debut album Soviet Reunion in 2004. The band's lineup changed frequently, with notable members including David Yoshimura on bass and Brandon Darner on lead guitar. In 2006, they self-released the EP I Will Write You Love Letters if You Ask Me to, which led to a signing with Mercury Records imprint Vertigo in 2007. Their major label debut, Dwell (2008), featured the song "Story Problem", included on the soundtrack of the film Run, Fatboy, Run. After being dropped from Vertigo in late 2008, The Envy Corps released their critically acclaimed album It Culls You (2011). They played their final show at the Outlandia Music Festival in Bellevue, Nebraska, on August 11, 2023.
