The Empty Pockets

Originally known as Josh & the Empty Pockets, the Chicago-based quartet was formed in 2006 and is known for its roots rock, borrowing from genres such as vintage rock'n'roll, folk-rock, Americana, soul and blues. Comprising Josh Solomon (vocals, guitar), Erika Brett (keyboards, vocals), Nate Bellon (bass) and Adam Balasco (drums), replaced by Danny Rosenthal, The Empty Pockets began with a tribute to Buddy Holly on Under the Bed (2008). Renamed The Empty Pockets, it went on to self-produce the Introducing the Empty Pockets EP (2011) and the albums The Ten Cent Tour (2015), oices (2017), Tanglewoods (2019), then after Covid-19, Outside Spectrum (2022) and the Christmas carol collection Party at the North Pole (2022). In 2023, Gotta Find the Moon reaches #1 on the blues charts, before a collaboration with British songwriter Al Stewart for a live performance released in 2024. Live in Buffalo followed in 2025, reaching No. 10 on the Billboard Blues Albums chart.
