The Dragons were a rock band from San Diego, California, fronted by singer/guitarist Mario Escovedo. The band became active in 1991 and released their eponymous vinyl album, The Dragons, the following year on Impossible Records. The Dragons signed with Junk Records in 1998, releasing three consecutive albums: "Cheers to Me", "Rock Like Fuck", and Live at the Casbah. They later released two more albums on Gearhead Records: "Sin Salvation" (2003) and "Rock n Roll Kamikaze" (2004). The band toured nationally, both on the club circuit and as an opening act for major bands. After 13 years and seven albums, The Dragons announced their disbandment in November 2005. Bass guitarist Steve Rodriguez died on July 21, 2015, aged 48.
