The Clancy Brothers

The Clancy Brothers was an Irish folk band formed in 1956 by brothers Patrick "Paddy" Clancy, Tom Clancy, and Liam Clancy. The group gained prominence during the American folk music revival, notably collaborating with Tommy Makem on nearly two dozen albums. Its early releases include The Lark in the Morning (1955), The Rising of the Moon (1956), and Come Fill Your Glass with Us (1959). The group's popularity peaked in the 1960s, with albums including In Person at Carnegie Hall (1963), which reached number 50 on the US charts. Other notable releases include The First Hurrah! (1964) and Isn't It Grand Boys (1966). After Makem's departure in 1969, the band continued with various lineups until Paddy Clancy's death in 1998. Archival releases include the album Carnegie Hall 1962 (2009).
