The ABC&D of Boogie Woogie formed as a musical group in 2009 by boogie-woogie pianists Axel Zwingenberger and Ben Waters, Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, and bassist Dave Green. Their name derived from the initials of their first names. They primarily performed boogie-woogie but also included blues and rock 'n' roll in their repertoire. Their debut performance took place on April 9, 2009, at the Tivoli Theatre in Dorset. The group released their first album, Live in Paris (2012). They toured extensively across Europe from 2009 to 2013, with a notable performance at the Midsummer Night Swing event in New York on June 28, 2012.
