Terakaft is a desert blues band, or African blues, cousin of Tinariwen. The two groups regularly play at the same concerts, and are linked by family ties and friendship. Terakaft, which means "the caravan" in Tuareg, released Bismilla: The BKO Sessions in 2007, followed by Akh Issudar in 2008. The Live 2008 album, released in 2009, is a great incentive to see Terakaft live on stage, where the famous desert blues guitar/bass/percussion combination is expressed to the full. 2011's Aratan N Azawad is Terakaft's most rocking album, not hesitating to veer towards psychedelia and invoke the spirits of Jimi Hendrix and John Cipollina of Quicksilver Messenger Service. Terakraft is not disarmed in 2015 with Alone.
