Teni

Teniola Apata (born 23 December 1992 in Lagos State) is a Nigerian Afrobeats singer‑songwriter professionally known as Teni and the sister of Niniola. After gaining attention with Instagram covers, she released the debut single "Amen" under Magic Fingers Records and later joined Dr. Dolor Entertainment. Her breakthrough came with "Askamaya" and "Case" in 2018, the former ranking 15th on MTV Base’s hottest tracks list. Teni issued the Billionaire EP in 2019, the Quarantine Playlist EP in 2020, and her debut album WONDALAND in 2021. In 2025 she released "Money", topping Nigerian Shazam charts and entering streaming platforms charts. She has earned the 2018 Headies Rookie of the Year award and was conferred the Member of the Order of the Niger in 2022. After releasing her debut album Wondaland under the name Teni the Entertainer in 2021, she released Tears of the Sun under the name Teni in 2023. In 2026, she released the single "Zion", which reached number 15 on the UK Afrobeats chart.
