Tarwater

Tarwater is a German electronic duo from Berlin, formed in 1995 by Bernd Jestram and Ronald Lippok. Their musical origins began in 1982 with the DDR art punk band Ornament & Verbrechen. The duo's name was inspired by a musician named C. Tarwater, who was credited on an album by the psychedelic band Love. Their first recordings under the name occurred in 1995, and their debut performance took place at an art festival in Dresden in September 1995, followed by their first Berlin concert at the Roten Salon in February 1996. Their initial album, 11/6 12/10, was released in 1996 on the Kitty-Yo label, which also marked the beginning of their collaboration with the booking agency Headquarter. The duo composed film scores, beginning with the film Edgar in 1996 and followed by Brombeerchen in 2001. Their discography includes albums such as Rabbit Moon (1997), Silur (1998), Animals Suns & Atoms (2000), Not the Wheel (2001), Dwellers on the Threshold (2002), The Needle Was Travelling (2005), Spider Smile (2007), Donne-moi la main (2009), Inside The Ships (2011), Adrift (2014), and Nuts of Ay (2024).
