Takfarinas

Since his debut in 1976, Takfarinas has been renewing Kabyle song. Inspired by Berber music and chââbi, Takfarinas creates a modern version, sometimes accompanied by protest lyrics. In addition to his full voice, Takfarinas introduced a two-handled electric mandola in 1998, bringing a distinctive sound to his compositions. After participating in the group Agraw from 1981, Takfarinas released the highly successful albums Way Tella and Arrach in 1986. The double CD Irgazen et ini-d ih in 1989 brought him international recognition. His success was further amplified in 1999 with the release of Yal. In 2011, Lwaldine - Hymne aux Parents caused a sensation with its version of the French classic "Ne me quitte pas".
