Super Orquesta Los Núñez, a cornerstone of Colombian tropical music, was founded by the legendary Abraham Núñez Narváez in Santa Cruz de Lorica, Córdoba, blending the vibrant rhythms of porro, cumbia, and fandango. A a master percussionist with deep roots in the genre, he began his career in the 1950s with bands like Los Macumberos del Sinú and Sonora Cordobesa, later joining iconic groups such as Pedro Laza y Sus Pelayeros and Los Corraleros de Majagual. In 1977, he formed La Súper Orquesta Los Núñez with his seven children, creating Colombia’s first family orchestra. Known for timeless compositions like "Tus Ojos Morena," "La Cumbia del Clarinete," and "El Pregón Verde," which became an anthem for Atlético Nacional fans, the group showcases Abraham Núñez's extraordinary ability to preserve and modernize traditional Colombian sounds. Their music, marked by rich instrumentation and heartfelt arrangements, continues to influence tropical orchestras worldwide, keeping the vibrant spirit of Colombian folklore alive for future generations.
