Steam Down is a UK collective based in south-east London, founded in May 2017 by multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Ahnansé (born Wayne Francis). The project formed to create a network of London musicians and producers quickly evolved into a dynamic musical platform involving a galaxy of artists. Steam Down's music blends jazz, hip-hop, R&B and electronic elements, offering an eclectic and innovative sonic experience. The collective regularly performs at festivals such as Glastonbury, and has won awards including the Jazz FM Innovation Award. Following the Five Fruit EP released in 2021, the group collaborated with Afronaut Zu on his debut album I Realised It Was Me, released in 2025.
