State Azure, real name Patrick Unsworth (born 1972), is a Southampton-based electronic music producer and composer whose work blends ambient, downtempo, and cinematic soundscapes to create immersive, atmospheric experiences. Known for his meticulous approach to sound design, State Azure crafts tracks that evoke deep emotional resonance, often drawing on influences from ambient pioneers, modern techno, and classical music. Emerging in the mid-2010s, State Azure released his debut album Outlines in 2011 and quickly became a figure within the realms of ambient and electronic music, with a distinct style that combines ethereal melodies, lush synthesizers, and intricate rhythms. Throughout his career, the prolific producer has released a steady stream of albums, EPs, and singles, including 2018 LP Mirror Infinite, 2021 single "The Druid," and 2022's Rimtol, each one further cementing his reputation as a master of atmospheric production. He unveiled a handful of singles in 2024, such as "Ultraviolet," and the 80s Ambient Reinventions EP, on which he reimagined era-defining songs such as Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" in a downtempo synthwave style.
