Star Academy, nicknamed "Star Ac'", is a musical reality show that was launched on TF1 in 2001, and has revealed artists such as Jenifer, Grégory Lemarchal and Nolwenn Leroy. The TV talent show not only enabled the winners to make a living from their music, but also enabled other contestants to enjoy successful careers, as Sofia Essaïdi, Olivia Ruiz and Quentin Mosimann proved. Stopped in 2008 due to a drop in ratings and public interest in its participants (Mickels Réa, the winner of this eighth season, didn't even record an album), Star Academy was reborn in 2012 thanks to DTT and the multiplication of TV channels. Broadcast from December 2012 to February 2013 on NRJ 12, the 9th season saw Laurène Bourvon win and the release of the album Les Meilleurs Moments . But the show made a comeback on TF1 in 2022, once again presented by Nikos Aliagas. Michael Goldman took over as director of the academy, and Robbie Williams was chosen as godfather. The public, once again in attendance, witnessed the coronation of Anisha Jo Anyjaine, before the release of the album Star Academy: Iconique. The latter includes the collective track "Ne partez pas sans moi", originally popularized by Céline Dion. In 2023, the eleventh season was sponsored by James Blunt and Vitaa. Chosen as the season's anthem, Jean-Jacques Goldman's "Au bout de mes rêves" features among others on L'Album de la Promo 2023, with the participation of winner Pierre Garnier. The twelfth season began in October 2024, with Clara Luciani as godmother and Santa's "Recommence-moi" as anthem, while Grégory Lemarchal's previously unreleased "Et si tu sens" was included on the L'Album de la Promo 2024 compilation, which reached No. 10 in the SNEP chart. In 2025, the 13th season is sponsored by Ed Sheeran and Charlotte Cardin, with the ABBA song "Voulez-vous" as anthem, featured on the album Le Bal de la Promo 2025, ranked #14 in the SNEP top chart.
