Sowelu, born Aki Harada on 6 November 1982 in Tokyo, Japan, is a Japanese pop/R&B singer. She launched her career in 2002 with the single "Beautiful Dreamer", which charted well and was included on the compilation album Relaxinâ with Japanese Lovers. Her breakthrough came with the release of her debut album, Geofu, in June 2003, which reached number four on the charts. Sowelu's single "Rainbow" was used as the theme song for the Japanese drama Netsuretsuteki Chukahanten. In 2004, she contributed "I Will" as the end theme for the animated series Fullmetal Alchemist, gaining international recognition. She released her second album, Sweet Bridge, in January 2005, and collaborated with M-Flo on their albums Beat Space Nine and Dope Space Nine. In July 2006, Sowelu released her fourth album, 24-twenty four-, which debuted at number three on the Weekly Oricon Album Charts. She later signed with Avex Trax's label Rhythm Zone. Sowelu released her fifth studio album, 29 Tonight, in 2012.
