Soufian

Soufian Amakran, known mononymously as Soufian, is a German rapper of Moroccan descent. He grew up in a middle-class family in the city of Offenbach, where he graduated from high school and continued studying computer science. After a chance encounter with rapper and future mentor Haftbefehl in the streets of Offenbach, Soufian decided to fully devote himself to music. His first appearance dates back to 2015 when he featured on Haftbefehl’s “Kalash,” included in the rapper’s second mixtape Unzensiert. Soufian quickly inserted himself in the German hip hop scene, landing a guest spot on Hanybal’s “Skimaske” (2016), and signing with Haftbefehl’s Generation Azzlack label. His debut single “Hab die Straße im Blut” saw the light in 2016 and was followed by the tracks “Geh nicht in Knast,” “Azzlack Versace,” and “Wolkenkratzer,” all included in his 2017 debut mixtape Allé Allé. Featuring appearances by Haftbefehl, Nimo, Capo, Celo & Abdi, and Hanybal, the mixtape proved to be a huge success, reaching Number 3 in Germany, Number 10 in Austria, and Number 8 in Switzerland. In the following years, Soufian lived up to the hype with a second full-length titled S.O.S. (2019) and dropped the singles "Wieder am Block" (2021) and "Alles nur Image" (2021), which peaked at Number 22 and 86, respectively.
