Smokey Joe & the Kid

Smokey Joe & The Kid, a French hip-hop and electro group from Bordeaux, Gironde, formed in 2009. Beatmakers Matthieu Perrein and Hugo Sanchez founded the group. They gained initial traction with the debut EP The Grand EP (2012) and released the first full-length album Nasty Tricks (2013). Throughout the years, they collaborated with notable artists such as Fred Wesley and R-Wan. The band released several EPs including The Game (2014), Rough and Tough (2014), and Smokid Inc. (2015). Their second album Running to the Moon (2016) followed. They performed at major festivals like Glastonbury Festival and Igloofest in Montreal. In 2017, they released the EP Remixes to the Moon (2017). The band's subsequent studio albums include Rogue Monsters (2019) and War is Over (2021).
