Sluts Of Trust

Sluts Of Trust were a Glasgow‑based rock duo formed in 2002 by guitarist and vocalist John McFarlane and drummer Anthony O'Donnell, who had first met as teenagers at the Scottish Youth Theatre in 1995. After a brief period of rehearsal and an opening slot for Lapsus Linguae at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, the pair attracted the attention of Chemikal Underground Records, signing with the label after only four gigs. Their debut single, "Piece O' You", released on 21 November 2003, sold out its limited 1,000‑copy pressing in a week and reached number 16 on John Peel’s Festive Fifty chart; the follow‑up single, "Leave You Wanting More", issued in April 2004, was named The Independent’s Single of the Week and placed at number 5 on the posthumous Festive Fifty. The duo’s debut album, We Are All Sluts of Trust, was issued on 26 April 2004 and received positive reviews, selling approximately 10,000 copies worldwide. After drummer Anthony O'Donnell departed in November 2004, Roo Harris joined, and the band continued touring the UK and the US, supporting acts such as The Delgados and Bloc Party. While the group remained active until the mid‑2000s, they ceased regular touring after 2006, and John McFarlane has since pursued solo acoustic performances and new material.
