Sleep Walker

Sleep Walker, a jazz quartet originating from Tokyo, Japan, formed in the late 1990s. The group initially gained traction through their dynamic and rhythmic style of jazz, which became popularized in Europe by DJs such as Gilles Peterson and Patrick Forge. Their debut album, Sleepwalker, was released in 2003, followed by The Voyage in 2006. Sleep Walker's breakthrough moment came with the release of "The Voyage" in 2004, which featured a collaboration with Pharoah Sanders. The group's subsequent albums included United Legends Replayed By Sleep Walker (2007) and Into the Sun (2008). Their first concert in France took place at Batofar on October 21, 2008, where they performed with Stéphane Belmondo. The quartet is known for their contributions to the "club jazz" movement in Japan, alongside groups like Kyoto Jazz Massive and Soil and "Pimp" Sessions.
