SIX LOUNGE is a three-piece Japanese rock band formed in 2012 in Oita City, Oita Prefecture. The lineup consists of Yamaguchi Yuimori (vocals/guitar), Iwao Riku (bass/chorus), and Nagamatsu Shintaro (drums/chorus). Yamaguchi and Nagamatsu were classmates in the music department at Oita Prefectural Geijutsu Midorigaoka High School, where Yamaguchi, eager to start a band, invited Nagamatsu after seeing him playing drums in the music room. The group gained early recognition by winning the Grand Prix twice consecutively at Oita RockânâRoll High School Vol.6 and Vol.7, also earning the Audience Award. In 2015, they held their sold-out one-man live âTrash,â and Iwao joined later that year, solidifying the current lineup. SIX LOUNGE made their indie debut in 2015 on THE NINTH APOLLO, later signing with Universal Musicâs ZEN MUSIC in 2018 before moving to Epic Records Japan under Sony Music Labels in 2022. Still based in Oita, they gained nationwide attention in 2023 when aiko introduced them on television, sparking viral success for âRika.â In 2024, their song âKotoba ni Sezutomoâ became the opening theme for BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War. Their release My Favorite Songs (2026) further highlights their melodic yet raw rock identity.
