Siwon

Born on February 10, 1987 in Seoul, South Korea, Choi Si-won (Korean: 최시원; Hanja: 崔始源) is known professionally as Siwon; a South Korean singer, songwriter, model, and actor famed for his membership of K-poppers Super Junior. Siwon got his start on television, first in 2005 on Precious Family and then via the KBS romance comedy-drama Eighteen, Twenty-Nine, also in 2005. He went on to build up a filmography that has encompassed everything from historical action films (2015's Dragon Blade) to romantic comedies (2021's New Year Blues). He was signed to SM Entertainment and emerged as one of the twelve members of Super Junior 05, who performed their first single "Twins (Knock Out)" on SBS' music program Popular Songs in November 2005, which was they then followed with their debut album Twins. The LP shot to Number 3 on the MIAK K-pop album charts. In 2006, Super Junior 05 welcomed thirteenth member Kyuhyun into the fold and they became officially known as Super Junior, releasing their first CD single "U" on June 7, 2006. Three years later, Super Junior's third studio album Sorry, Sorry catapulted the group to the heights of global fame, also winning them a Disk Daesang Album of the Year at the 2009 Golden Disk Awards. Siwon went on to release another eight albums with Super Junior, including 2021's The Renaissance, while he has also released a trove of his own solo music, including 2010's "Worthless" from the soundtrack to South Korean TV series Oh! My Lady, 2015's "You're the Only One" from the She Was Pretty soundtrack – the same year a wax figure of Siwon was unveiled at Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong – and "Nobody but You," featured on the Work Later, Drink Now OST in 2021.
