Shira Kammen is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. She received her degree in music from the University of California, Berkeley and studied vielle with Margriet Tindemans. Kammen career involved performing and teaching throughout the world, as well as participating in several television and movie soundtracks such as O, a modern high school-setting of Othello, and the video game Braid. Her discography included albums like Music of Waters (2003), The Castle of the Holly King (2003), and Ragged, Rent and Torn (2009). Kammen has also been a member of various ensembles, including Class V Music, The Boston Camerata, and Ensemble Alcatraz. She collaborated with singer/storyteller John Fleagle for over 10 years and notably worked with Joanna Newsom, contributing to the song "Kingfisher" on Have One On Me (2010).
