Sextile is an American band from Los Angeles, formed in 2015 by Brady Keehn and Melissa Scaduto, later joined by Cameron Michel (guitar, synthesizers) and Eddie Wuebben (machines, deceased 2022). The band's abrasive, danceable sound fuses elements of post-punk, synth-punk, EBM (Electronic Body Music) and industrial, with heavy use of analog synthesizers, vintage drum machines and razor-sharp guitars. Sextile draws on the raw energy of 1980s punk, the cold aesthetics of new wave, and the rhythmic violence of underground electronic music. After their debut album A Thousand Hands (2015), which laid the foundations for a dark, cinematic post-punk revival, Sextile refined their approach with Albeit Living (2017), where machines take over from guitars. In 2018, EP 3 propels them further into EBM, with tracks cut for industrial clubs. After a break, the band returned in 2023 with Push, a percussive, frontal and danceable album, celebrated for its ability to coexist sonic violence and festive energy. A duo since the departure of Cameron Mitchell, Keehn and Scaduto follow up with Yes, Please (2025), sounding like the return of electroclash.
