Sergio Dalma

Josep Sergi Capdevila Querol, known professionally as Sergio Dalma, was born on September 28, 1964, in Sabadell, Spain. He began his music career singing in bands and choirs before gaining recognition by winning the TV program Gent d'aquí on Televisión Española in Cataluña, which led to a contract for performing at a Barcelona nightclub. Sergio Dalma's stage name is derived from Maldá, the town where his father was born. His debut album, Esa chica es mía, was released in 1989 under the label Horus and achieved platinum status in Spain. His subsequent album, Sintiendonos La Piel (1991), included the song "Bailar pegados", which represented Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest that year. Sergio Dalma continued to release successful albums such as Cuerpo A Cuerpo (1995) and Historias Normales (1998). In 2000, his album Nueva Vida earned a double platinum certification in Spain. Notable singles from this period include "No me digas que no" and "Sólo una vez", the latter featuring Alex Britti. Sergio Dalma's career also includes collaborations with Claudio Guidetti on albums like Via Dalma (2010) and its sequels, which featured Italian classics translated into Spanish. In 2013, he released Cadore 33, earning a double platinum certification for the album. His later works include Dalma (2015), which received a platinum certification in Spain, and Via Dalma III (2017).
