Sebastián Yatra

Although born in Medellin, Colombia, on October 15, 1994, Sebastián Obando Giraldo was raised and educated in the United States. Sebastián Yatra composed his first songs at the age of twelve, releasing the promotional single "El Psicólogo" in 2014. The young man skilfully blends Latin romanticism with rhythms such as reggaeton and bachata in his compositions, culminating in the success of "Traicionera " in 2016. First featured on the Extended Play EP Yatra (2017), the song then served as the locomotive for the album Mantra in May 2018. Both the single and Mantra enjoy a successful destiny in the United States (No. 3 sales in the Latin segment) and Latin America. In Spain, "Traicionera" is a major hit, topping the most popular listening charts. Very active, Sebastián Yatra multiplies his collaborations as main artist or guest, crossing his style with those of Carlos Vives, Wisin & Nacho, David Bisbal, Ivete Sangalo or Lalo Ebratt. Released on April 12, 2019, the album Fantasía is also a success, with the song "Un Año " featuring Reik as the new major hit. Thanks to "Chica Ideal", which he recorded in 2020 with Guaynaa, he enjoyed further success in the Colombian charts (No. 4). The same year sees his song "Dos Oruguitas" featured in the hit film Encanto, in both Spanish and English versions. The 2022 Oscar-nominated song was followed by the chart-toppers "Adiós" (no. 20) and "Pareja del Año " (no. 43), a duet with Myke Towers. After the album Dharma (2022), ranked No. 2 on Billboard's Latin pop charts, and his collaborations with Jorge Caledón and Rosario, Elena Rose, Justin Quiles and L-Gante, Rauw Alejandro and Manuel Turizo, Guaynaa, Daddy Yankee, Natti Natasha and the Jonas Brothers or Aitana, the ballad singer goes on a world tour and on his return receives a Latin Grammy Award for Dharma, reissued with the bonus track "Contigo", a duet with Pablo Alborán. 2023 saw the release of the solo single "Una Noche Sin Pensar" (no. 66 in Spain), "Vagabundo" with Manuel Turizo and Béele (no. 3 in Spain), and "Energía Bacana". After delighting audiences at the Viña del Mar Festival with an orchestral performance that earned him the prestigious Silver and Gold Gaviotas, he immediately offered the nostalgic single "La Pelirroja", a prelude to his fourth album Milagro, released in May 2025 and celebrated for its deep, romantic sensibility. The eponymous track " Milagro " reaches number 23ᵉ on the Billboard Latin Pop Airplay chart, confirming its international radio impact.
