Schürzenjäger

In 2011, the Schürzenjäger make a musical comeback under the traditional band name and continue the legacy of the original Zillertaler Schürzenjäger. The new formation consists of Alfred Eberharter junior (accordion, keyboard), Stefan Wilhelm (vocals, guitar), Andreas Marberger (guitar), Dennis Tschoecke (drums) and Christof von Haniel (bass). Alfred Eberharter senior, founding member of the original line-up, accompanies the group organizationally. The band comes from Finkenberg in the Zillertal valley in Tyrol, Austria. Musically, the Schürzenjäger continue to combine folk music with elements of rock and pop. Their comeback album Es ist wieder Schürzenjägerzeit - Hey Mann! was released in 2012 and reached number 67 in the German charts. This was followed by further releases such as Feuer und Flamme (2014), Das Beste vom Besten (2016, DE #55), Herzbluat (2017) and Die Legende lebt - 50 Jahre Rebellion in den Alpen (2018, DE #90). Current works include the albums Herzschlag (2021) and Feuerkopf (2023), which are particularly popular in the Alpine region. The Schürzenjäger of the new generation remain true to a musical style that relies on catchy choruses, lyrics close to home and a rocking production. They regularly play on large open-air stages, in particular at the traditional Schürzenjäger Open Air in Finkenberg.
