Satoshi Tomiie, born 富家哲 on 22 November 1966 in Japan, is a Japanese producer and DJ whose career began in the late 1980s after a commission from a cosmetics company led to a collaboration with Frankie Knuckles. His first single, "Tears", released in 1989, established him within the house scene. In 1990 he followed with "And I Loved You", and throughout the 1990s he produced and remixed for artists such as U2, Mariah Carey, and David Bowie while touring internationally. Tomiie’s debut studio album, Full Lick, was issued on 16 May 2000, introducing a darker, rhythmic style that produced underground hits like "Love In Traffic" and "Up In Flames" featuring Kelli Ali. Subsequent albums Atari(29 November 2000) and New Day (30 June 2015) expanded his catalog, and his work with Saw Recordings helped promote emerging European house talent. Tomiie has maintained a steady output of singles and remixes, including collaborations with artists such as David Morales, John Digweed, and Guti, and has remained active on the global DJ circuit. His contributions have been recognized within the house music community for their technical precision and influence on the genre’s evolution, though specific chart positions or awards are not documented. The biography concludes with his ongoing presence in the electronic music scene, reflecting a career marked by consistent innovation and international collaboration.
