Saruganseki, a Japanese pop music duo formed in Hiroshima, Kumano, debuted in 1994. The two members, classmates at a local high school, were discovered by talent agency Ota Production while performing at a school festival. Their first single, "My Revolution", released in 1995, earned a spot on the nationwide JâPOP chart, breaking into the Topâ¯30 and establishing the duo as fresh voices in the industry. The title track, "Shiroi kumo no youni", recorded 21â¯Decemberâ¯1996, became a radio staple, featuring on several Topâ¯40 countdowns and earning a nomination for Best New Artist at the 2009 Japan Music Awards. They continued to release singles such as "TsuushinboâSARUGANSEKI SINGLES" on 23â¯Marchâ¯2009 and "1986" on 2â¯Marchâ¯2009, both of which charted within the Topâ¯50. Despite their growing success, the duo disbanded in Marchâ¯2004, citing personal differences and a desire to pursue solo projects.
