Saruganseki

Saruganseki, a Japanese pop music duo formed in Hiroshima, Kumano, debuted in 1994. The two members, classmates at a local high school, were discovered by talent agency Ota Production while performing at a school festival. Their first single, "My Revolution", released in 1995, earned a spot on the nationwide J‑POP chart, breaking into the Top 30 and establishing the duo as fresh voices in the industry. The title track, "Shiroi kumo no youni", recorded 21 December 1996, became a radio staple, featuring on several Top 40 countdowns and earning a nomination for Best New Artist at the 2009 Japan Music Awards. They continued to release singles such as "Tsuushinbo‑SARUGANSEKI SINGLES" on 23 March 2009 and "1986" on 2 March 2009, both of which charted within the Top 50. Despite their growing success, the duo disbanded in March 2004, citing personal differences and a desire to pursue solo projects.
