Sandi Patty

Sandi Patty is an American contemporary Christian music singer and author born as Sandra Faye Patty on July 12, 1956, in Oklahoma City. She achieved professional recognition for a musical career characterized by contemporary Christian music and for receiving five Grammy Awards and several GMA Dove Awards. Patty achieved professional recognition for a career that began after she joined her parents in the ensemble The Ron Patty Family. Her recording career began with the debut eponymous independent studio recording For My Friends followed by the studio recording Sandi's Song (1979). Patty achieved professional recognition for singing backup for the musician Bill Gaither and performing the national anthem at the Statue of Liberty re-dedication in 1986. Their discography included the studio recording Another Time... Another Place (1990) which reached number 2 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart and featured the single “I'll Give You Peace”. The artist achieved professional recognition for being inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2004 and the studio recording The Edge of the Divine (2010). Her recording career included the studio recording Forever Grateful (2016) and retiring from touring in 2017.
