Samuel Hernandez

Samuel Hernández Vega, popularly known as Samuel Hernández, is one of the most popular Christian artists in his native Puerto Rico. Born on September 26, 1972, in Caguas, he initially pursued a career in accounting and marketing after graduating with top honors from Ana G. Méndez University. A nearly fatal car accident made him reconsider his career path, after which he decided to devote himself to music and faith. In 1993, Samuel Hernández released his studio debut Un Sueño Hecho Realidad. His journey in music took a deeper spiritual path with his second album Soy una Nueva Vasija, featuring the hit song "De Lo Más Profundo." His third album, Faltan 5 Para las 12: ¡Jesús Llegó! achieved remarkable success, becoming a gold record and dominating Christian radio in Puerto Rico for 20 consecutive weeks with its title track. Following this, his 2003 album Jesús Siempre Llega a Tiempo broke new ground as one of the first major-selling Christian albums in Puerto Rico. His popularity soared with his iconic song "Levanto Mis Manos," which climbed to number 32 on the Billboard Latin Pop Airplay chart. His career continued to flourish with albums like Por Si No Hay Mañana (2009), Inyección de Fe (2012), and a hits compilation titled Éxitos (2013). Exploring new musical territories, Samuel Hernández ventured into bachata with his eighth album Me Conecta al Cielo (2015), featuring the single "En Ti Lo Tengo Todo." Over the following years, he has remained a significant figure in Christian music with releases such as Duetos (2016), Gracias Señor En Vivo (2017), Hay Poder en la Sangre de Jesús (2019), and Coros de Fuego y Gozo (2023), each of which has been warmly received by fans and critics alike.
