Samuel e Mateus

Samuel e Mateus were a Brazilian brother vocal duo from the community of Corte de Pedra in Presidente Tancredo Neves, Bahia, who emerged in 2025 as teen exponents of arrocha/seresta, singing in neighborhood gatherings and posting clips that quickly went viral on social platforms. In late August they drew national attention with a soulful take on “Amor dos Outros” (a contemporary sertanejo hit), prompting their circle—led by local impresario “Big Lobo”—to usher the pair into the studio. Days later, tragedy struck: Samuel (17) and Mateus (14) died in a motorcycle accident on September 1, 2025, an event widely mourned across Brazil. Posthumous releases followed immediately: their single “Amor dos Outros” appeared on digital services on September 3, 2025, credited to Samuel e Mateus, and a second single, “Fez Teu Nome,” arrived a week later, preserving the intimate, melismatic arrocha style that had first captivated listeners. Tribute versions and “in memória” performances circulated on YouTube—often alongside fellow Northeastern acts—extending their brief but resonant catalog and fixing “Amor dos Outros” as the duo’s calling card.
