Same Difference

Same Difference were a British pop duo consisting of siblings Sean Smith and Sarah Smith from Widley, Portsmouth, England. They rose to fame in 2007 as finalists on the fourth series of The X Factor UK, where their infectious energy and wholesome image quickly won over both the judges and the public, ultimately finishing in third place. Known for their upbeat performances, tight harmonies, and feel-good pop sound, Same Difference signed with Syco Music and released their debut album Pop in 2008, which reached the UK Top 20 and featured the single "We R One." Blending bubblegum pop with musical theatre influences, the duo appealed to a broad audience, especially younger fans and families. After parting ways with their label, they released a second independent album The Rest Is History in 2011, showcasing a more mature sound. Though they later dissolved the group in 2014, they continued to work in the entertainment industry, including running their own performing arts school. In 2020, they reunited temporarily to release a charity single during the COVID-19 pandemic.
