Sam Gellaitry

Sam Gellaitry, born in 1997 in Stirling, Scotland, is a British electronic music composer and DJ. Raised by a father who played the bagpipes and with a love for jazz, Gellaitry began composing music at age twelve using FL Studio. He started releasing tracks on SoundCloud around 2014 under the pseudonym Synth-e-Sam, gaining initial attention with his remix of "Rock With You" by Michael Jackson. Gellaitry's breakthrough came in 2015 with the release of his EP Short Stories via Soulection. This was followed by the single "Waiting So Long", released through Ministry of Sound. His subsequent series of EPs, titled Escapism, were released under XL Recordings and showcased his evolving sound, from trap to more electronic and jazz-infused styles. In 2017, Gellaitry performed at Coachella and participated in a Boiler Room session in London. Notable tracks include "Long Distance", which gained further popularity during its performance at the Super Bowl LII halftime show. His later works, such as Viewfinder Vol.1: Phosphene (2019) and IV (2021), marked a shift towards more experimental and vocal-driven compositions. In 2023, Gellaitry released "Assumptions", in 2024, "HOME", and in 2025, "START UP A RUMOUR".
