Salt Tank

Salt Tank was formed in 1991 by British producers David Gates and Malcolm Stanners, joined by percussionist and vocalist Andy Rose from Basingstoke, England; David Gates and Malcolm Stanners were born in 1991. The trio began by self‑releasing EPs on their label 4 Real Communications, gaining attention from John Peel and the dance community. Their first commercial breakthrough came with the single "Eugina" in 1996, which entered the UK Singles Chart at Number 40, followed by the album Science and Nature on Internal Records the same year. In 1999 they released the EP The White Island and the single "Dimension", which peaked at Number 52 on the UK chart. The same year, they issued the album Wavebreaks through FFRR, further solidifying their presence in the electronic scene. Subsequent releases included the single "Eugina (I Want To Be Free)" in 2001 and "The Energy" on Bedrock Records. Salt Tank collaborated with Chicane on the track "Leaving Town" and had their work remixed by artists such as Mea Culpa. The group continued to release music until 2015’s single "Phoenix" on Pure Trance Recordings. Drummer and vocalist Andy Rose passed away in November 2012 after a battle with cancer.
