Rumkicks

Rumkicks is a high-energy punk rock band from Seoul, South Korea, formed in 2018 by vocalist and guitarist Jeong Yewon. The current lineup includes Jeong Yewon (vocals, guitar), Joo Wanseo (bass), and Ko Dahyun (drums). With a sound rooted in pogo punk and evolved into a gritty "post-Chosun punk" style, Rumkicks is known for tackling themes like misogyny, social alienation, and mental health through sharp, emotionally charged lyrics. They've built a global following through tours across Asia, Europe, and North America, with standout performances at Rebellion Festival in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Their first full-length album, 反骨 (Born Rude), released in June 2023, showcased their raw spirit and defiant voice, quickly becoming a milestone in the Korean punk scene. Songs like "Don't Touch My Head"(2021) and "Punk is Nowhere"(2022) drew attention for their honest takes on personal boundaries and the punk community’s double standards. On April 16, 2025, they followed up with their second album, Hit a Nerve, a more polished yet equally fierce post-punk revival release that expanded their sonic range and solidified their international presence. Now signed to SBÄM Records, Rumkicks stands as a bold voice in modern punk.
