Romualdo Brito

Romualdo Brito López, born on March 17, 1953, in Treinta Tomarrazón, Riohacha, Colombia, is a Colombian musician and singer known for his contributions to vallenato music. He began writing songs during his adolescence, with his first notable composition "El dios cantor" being performed by Lisandro Meza at the age of 17. Brito's career took off as he contributed compositions to various artists, including Diomedes Díaz and Jorge Oñate. His album Alma de mi alma was released in May 1979, followed by Mi Sanjuanera y Tú in May 1980. Notable songs include "El santo cachón" (Los Embajadores Vallenatos) and his own hit single "Mi presidio", which became a radio success in Colombia. Brito continued to release albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including Embrujo vallenato (May 1985). His later works include Mi Presidio (April 2019) and Musica Para el Mundo (May 2019). Brito passed away on November 20, 2020.
