Rodolfo Mederos

Rodolfo Mederos, born on March 25, 1940 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is an Argentine musician known for his virtuosity as a bandoneonist. Influenced by Astor Piazzolla, Mederos formed his first ensembles in the early 1960s and gained recognition with his Octeto Guardia Nueva, leading to an invitation from Piazzolla to move to Buenos Aires. His debut album, Buenos Aires, al rojo, was released in 1965. In 1976, he formed Generación Cero, known for its fusion of jazz, rock, and traditional tango elements. He received his first Premio Konex in 1985 and was honored as a Ciudadano Ilustre de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires in 2003.
