Robin Beck, born Robin Beck on 7 September 1954 in Brooklyn, New York City, is an American AOR-oriented singer. She began her musical journey in Daytona Beach, Florida, where she was talent-spotted by local musician Alex London and later connected with Johnny Conklin. Her first single, "Still in Love", was released following a performance at a Detroit club. Beck's debut album, Sweet Talk, was released in 1979 under Mercury Records, featuring the title track as her first notable success. Beck gained prominence as a background singer for various artists, including Humble Pie, Melissa Manchester, and Leo Sayer. Her breakthrough came in 1988 with "First Time", originally recorded for a Coca-Cola commercial but later released as a single that topped charts in multiple European countries. This led to the release of her second album, Trouble or Nothin', in 1989, which included hits like "Save Up All Your Tears" and "Tears in the Rain". Despite her success in Europe, Beck remained relatively unknown in the United States. Subsequent albums such as Human Instinct (1992) and Can't Get Off (1994) saw moderate chart success with singles like "In My Heart to Stay" and "Close to You", respectively. Beck's later works include Wonderland (2004), Do You Miss Me (2005), and Livin' on a Dream (2007). Throughout her career, Beck collaborated with notable figures like Desmond Child and Diane Warren, contributing to the success of various artists.
