Robert van Hemert

Robert van Hemert (born 15 March 1993 in Leiden, Netherlands) is a Dutch singer renowned for his powerful voice and heartfelt performances in the Dutch levenslied (life song) genre. Raised in a musical family, with both brothers being singers, he was immersed in music from a young age. Initially working as a painter, he pursued his passion for singing by performing at local events and releasing singles such as "Love You Voor Altijd" and "Zo Ver Weg". His breakthrough came in 2022 when he won the SBS6 talent show De Hollandse Nieuwe, a competition to find the next great Dutch folk singer. His victory led to performances at major events like De Toppers in Concert at the Johan Cruijff ArenA and a year-long partnership with RADIONL. In 2023, he released the hit single "Zoet, Zout, Zuur," which became a massive success, earning him a platinum award for over 20 million streams. He followed this with his debut solo concert at the sold-out Stadsgehoorzaal in Leiden. In 2025, he continued to build on his success with the release of "Ik Zal Er Zijn," a duet with Kimberly Fransens, and released the Niet Voor Lief EP. Also in 2025, he was appointed as the Nachtburgemeester (Night Mayor) of the Netherlands, a role that recognises individuals who contribute to the country's nightlife and music culture.
