Rival Kings

Rival Kings, a Swiss rock band from Lucerne, was formed in 2012 by Daniel Betschart, Dominique Marcel Iten, and Rafael Schwab. The group initially emerged from the remnants of the progressive rock band Pure Soundart. Shortly after their formation, Étienne Hilfiker joined as vocalist and Fabio Lanza as bassist. Rival Kings released their debut album, Citizens, in 2014, which surprisingly entered the Swiss Hitparade. The band then signed with DeepDive Music and replaced Lanza with Sandro Furrer on bass. In summer 2014, Rival Kings performed at numerous festivals, including Gurten Festival, Stimmen Festival in Germany, Zürich Openair, and TEDxZurich. Christopher James Christensen joined the band in 2015, contributing to their second album War, released in 2016, which peaked at number 11 on the Swiss album Charts.
