Rita Mills, born Rita Mills on Naghir Island in Torres Strait, Australia, was a folk singer. She began her musical journey as part of the Mills Sisters band with her twin sisters Cessa and Ina. The trio sang together, with Rita Mills playing guitar. After the twins retired from performing in 1996, Rita Mills continued her solo career. Her notable albums include Blue Mountain (1999) and Mata Nice (2001). Following a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease in 2000, she moved to Cairns and retired from music in 2001. Rita Mills passed away on 8 December 2004.
