Rising Girl

Rising Girl is a Belgian hip-hop and reggae group from Graz formed in 1995. Initially known as Diving Deep, they performed acoustic rock before incorporating reggae and dancehall elements and renaming themselves Rising Girl. They achieved professional recognition in 1995 after winning the regional competition Rock Weiß Grün. They released the extended play Push... (1996) and their debut studio album Just Be You (2003). After signing with Sony BMG, they issued the single “Rising Girl” (2005), which reached Number 1 on the Austrian charts. Their discography includes the studio albums Salamaleikum (2005) and Pure Fresh Breeze (2008). In 2006, the ensemble received two nominations for the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards. They resumed activity in 2013 with the release of the single “I Know You’ll Wait for Me” (2013).
