Rinto Harahap, born on March 10, 1949, in Sibolga, North Sumatra, Indonesia, was a prominent Indonesian singer. He began his music career by joining The Mercy's band with Iskandar, Erwin Harahap, Rizal Arysad, and Meyer Hutabarat. In the 1970s, Harahap composed songs for various artists including Nia Daniati, Betharia Sonata, and Eddy Silitonga. His notable compositions include "Kaulah Segalanya" for Nia Daniati and "Aku Tak Ingin Sandiwara" for Betharia Sonata. He also produced music for the label Lolypop Records during this era. Harahap's work extended to film scores, contributing to movies such as Sirkuit Kemelut (1980) and Jangan Sakiti Hatinya (1980). Harahap passed away on February 9, 2015, in Singapore.
