Ringo Deathstarr is an American shoegaze band from Austin, Texas, formed in 2005 by singer/songwriter Elliott Frazier. The band's name was a combination of the Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and the Star Wars Death Star. Initially based in Beaumont, Texas, the group relocated to Austin where they solidified their lineup with bassist Alex Gehring, guitarist Renan McFarland, and drummer Dustin Gaudet. Their debut five-song EP, Ringo Deathstarr (2007), was released by SVC Records, followed by a series of singles including "You Don't Listen" (2009) and "So High" (2011). The band's first full-length album, Colour Trip (2011), was released. Notable albums include Mauve (2012), Pure Mood (2015), and their self-titled album Ringo Deathstarr (2020). Ringo Deathstarr was compared to earlier shoegaze bands such as My Bloody Valentine and Ride.
