Ringnes-Ronny

Deeply rooted in the tradition of Russ music, a subgenre of EDM highly popular in Norway, the mysterious artist known as Ringnes-Ronny is equally known for both his fiercely independent nature and his explicit lyrics, often sung in Swedish. Hiding his face behind a horned bucket, he’s been steadily releasing singles since 2016 and even sparked a controversy in 2017 with the song “NB02,” mainly due to its sexual references. A few years later, the masked phenomenon broke into the mainstream with the 2020 viral singles “Valhalla” and “Fredag,” a collaboration with the duo Staysman & Lazz that entered the Norwegian Top 50 and accumulated tens of millions of streams across platforms. His self-produced studio debut, Danspunk, came out in 2021 and spawned the singles “Monster,” “10.000 Mil,” and “Vi Ska Bli Fulla,” which peaked at Number 42 in the Swedish Singles Chart.
