She began her music career in high school, self-releasing mixtapes like Summer's Eve (2014), The Rico Story (2016), and Sugar Trap (2016), gaining early attention with viral singles "iCarly" and "Hey Arnold," the latter of which was remixed by Lil Yachty. Her 2017 mixtape Sugar Trap 2 featured the breakout hit "Poppin," which was included in HBO’s Insecure, further elevating her profile. In 2018, she signed with Atlantic Records and released Nasty, a critically acclaimed mixtape that included tracks like "Smack a Bitch" and "Rage." The following year, she collaborated with producer Kenny Beats on Anger Management (2019), a surprise release that showcased her versatility and received widespread praise.
