Richard Shindell

Richard Shindell, born on August 3, 1960 in Lakehurst, New Jersey is an American singer-songwriter. His career began with the release of his debut album Sparrows Point in 1992. In 1997, Joan Baez recorded three of Shindell's songs—"Fishing", "Reunion Hill", and "Money for Floods"—for her album Gone from Danger, which boosted his career. This led to an invitation to join Baez’s 1997–1998 tour. Shindell collaborated with Dar Williams and Lucy Kaplansky to form the group Cry Cry Cry, releasing their eponymous album in 1998. The trio toured extensively before resuming solo careers. In March 2007, Shindell released South of Delia, an album of cover songs on his website. His subsequent albums include Not Far Now (2009) and the compilation 13 Songs You May or May Not Have Heard Before (2011).
